On a glorious spring day we held our first show since 2019, not really sure how many people would come after Covid restrictions have been lifted. We had a good display of plants, the most notable being a beautiful Lycaste virginalis exhibited by David Kohn which won best species and best in show. Best hybrid was a tray of very floriferous Pleione Berapi `Purple Sandpiper` exhibited by myself. Plants ranged in size from Cymbidiums right down to the tiny Chytroglossa marileoniae exhibited by Andy Gissing.

Lawrence Hobbs had a well stocked stand of flowering and nursery plants and Andrew Bannister had a good range of seedlings to tempt the more adventurous growers amongst us. The tombola was well stocked with prizes donated by members (many thanks everybody), the kitchen counter was loaded up with delicious cakes and pastries to tempt our taste buds, (again many thanks for members donations). All we needed now was the public through the door, unfortunately numbers were down on previous years but enough did support us to make it a good day and put some coppers in the kitty to keep the club going successfully.
