Colin Thorburn will be visiting to tell us about the 23rd World Orchid Conference.

We are experimenting with a change to our Display Tables, as the division between the main display table, the ‘Winners’ table and the ‘Novices’ table hasn’t been working very well for a while.  For this and subsequent meetings, we will have a main display table showing anyone’s orchids (as we have always had), a ‘novice and window-sill’ display table and a separate competition table for any orchid to be entered. Therefore, if at any time any member has a ‘novice or window-sill’ orchid they think is good enough to put onto the competition table, they can do so. Then if at the end of the year they are the winner of the cup for the competition table, they become a ‘winner’, otherwise they can continue to display their
orchids on the ‘novice and window-sill’ table. If this doesn’t work out, we’ll think again!
