This month a larger turnout of members were treated to a talk by Colin Thorburn about Sarawak and the Asia Pacific Orchid Conference that Colin had attended. He explained how Vandas and Phaleanopsis made up a lot of the displays which also featured quite a few cats and hornbill birds. The capital Kuching is also known as cat city and the hornbill is the countries national bird.
We had another splendid display table with a good variety of orchids on show. The previous winners competition table was won by Tony Weavers with his coelogyne nitida. The novice table was won David Kohn`s Cymbidium devonianum.
