The 25th March, the day of our show, dawned bright, sunny but cold. A grand cohort of members arrived and having set up the display table and sales stands there was ample time to eat the bacon roll offered by the kitchen “staff” before the members of the public arrived. It started with one or two but didn’t take long for a steady stream of people to come. The enthusiasm of the visitors continued throughout the day. All were pleased with the response shown.
Again Bill Gardiner’s Masdevallias and Paphiopedilum proved the winners on the members display but there were many other high class plants offered. All the sales tables put on interesting, complementary and colourful tables.
Thanks must go to the sellers, the society members many of whom gave up a Saturday, the people who provided food for the kitchen without whom we would have nothing to sell and lastly but most importantly, the members of the public who continue to support our efforts.
